Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Yurii Baulin took part in the international scientific and practical conference on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Independence and the Day of Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Independence and the Day of Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Yurii Baulin took part in the international scientific and practical conference "Constitution – foundation of the dynamic and sustainable development of society and State", held on August 29-30, 2016 at the Palace of Independence in the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Kazakh Humanitarian Law University in Astana (Republic of Kazakhstan).
The event was attended by the State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan, members of Parliament, heads of bodies of constitutional jurisdiction of foreign countries, including Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Germany, Serbia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, representatives of international organiSations including the UN, the Venice Commission (Council of Europe), OSCE Program Office in Astana, EU Delegation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation, as well as domestic and foreign lawyers and experts.
The conference was opened by the Chairman of the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan Igor Rogov. State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova welcomed participants on the behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the plenary session of the international scientific and practical conference Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine YuriI Baulin delivered a presentation on “Amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine as the way to ensure the stability of the foundations of Ukrainian statehood", dedicated to one of the most difficult and important aspects of the constitutional process in the modern democratic state, i.e. amendments to the constitution.
Participants of the conference discussed a number of issues concerning the Fundamental Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan, its history, development, operation as well as functioning of the constitutions in the states which representatives participated in the event. They also noted the achievement of the Republic of Kazakhstan to maintain social and political stability, ensuring interethnic and interfaith understanding.
