PETRO FILIUK 

Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine

 

Judge Filiuk was born on April 11, 1961 in the village Zalukhiv, Ratnivskyi District, Volyn Region.

After finishing Volodymyr-Volynskyi technical school of hydro-amelioration and mechanisation of agriculture in 1980 he served compulsory military service.

In 1986 he graduated from the Kharkiv Law Institute (now known as the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University).

Since August 1986 Petro Filiuk worked as an investigator of the Investigation Division of the Internal Affairs Department of the Lutsk City Executive Committee of Volyn Region.

In April 1990 he was elected People's Judge of Lutsk District People's Court, and in September 1992 he was appointed Chairman of this Court.

By the resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dated April 3, 2003, he was elected a judge of the Court of Appeal of Volyn Region permanently.

On December 23, 2003 he was appointed First Deputy Chairman of the above Court by the Decree of the President of Ukraine.

2004 - 2019 – Chairman of the Court of Appeal of Volyn Region.

On October 30, 2019, upon the results of the competition, Petro Filiuk was appointed Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine by the XVII Extraordinary Congress of Judges of Ukraine. He took the oath of a Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on November 5, 2019.
