On July 22, at the in-camera part of the plenary sessions the Grand Chamber of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine considered the following cases:
- upon the constitutional petition of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights on compliance of Article 90, subparagraph 1 of paragraph 2 of Section XI “Final and Transitional Provisions” of the Law of Ukraine “On Civil Service” of December 10, 2015 No. 889-VIII, Article 21.7 of the Law of Ukraine “On Service in Local Bodies of Self-Government” with the Constitution of Ukraine;
- upon the constitutional complaint of Ihor Samsin regarding the compliance of the provisions of Article 54.1.2 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and Status of Judges” with the Constitution of Ukraine;
- upon the constitutional petition of 142 People's Deputies of Ukraine regarding the official interpretation of a specific provision of paragraph four of the Preamble of the Constitution of Ukraine.
Consideration of these cases will be continued at one of the next plenary sessions.
In addition, at its session, the Grand Chamber adopted 9 rulings extending the term of adopting the ruling of the boards of judges on initiating or refusing to initiate constitutional proceedings in a number of cases, in particular, in the cases upon the constitutional petition of 49 People's Deputies of Ukraine and upon the constitutional complaints of Oleksii Abramovych; Primary trade union organisation of the All-Ukrainian trade union of workers of science, production and finance of PJSC “Arcelor Mittal Kryvyi Rih”; Roman Truba; PJSC “UKRNAFTA”; Volodymyr Soloviov; LLC production and commercial firm “REMBUDRESTAVRATSIIA”; Gagik Arakelian; Oleksandr Losiev.
