April 13. At the Sessions the Judges Adopted 5 Rulings

On Thursday, April 13, 2023, the Grand Chamber, in the public part of the plenary session in the form of written proceedings, proceeded with deliberation of the case upon the constitutional petition of 58 People's Deputies of Ukraine regarding the constitutionality of specific provisions of the Law of Ukraine “On the State Bureau of Investigation”. The Court examined the materials of the case in the public part and proceeded to the in-camera part of the plenary session for a decision.

Moreover, the Grand Chamber at the session adopted 2 rulings on the extension until May 11 of this year the deadline for the adoption by the boards of judges of rulings on initiating or refusing to initiate constitutional proceedings in cases upon the constitutional complaints of Yelizaveta Yevhrafova and Volodymyr Keleberda.

On the same day, the sessions of the boards of judges took place, at which the judges deliberated the issue of initiating constitutional proceedings in cases upon constitutional petitions and constitutional complaints.

The Second Board of Judges of the Second Senate adopted the Ruling on initiating constitutional proceedings in the case upon the constitutional petition of 49 People's Deputies of Ukraine on providing an opinion on the conformity of the Agreement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on Matters of Stationing of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation in the Territory of Ukraine dated April 21, 2010, ratified by the Law of Ukraine “On the Ratification of the Agreement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on Matters of Stationing of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation in the Territory of Ukraine” dated April 27, 2010 No. 2153–VI with the Constitution of Ukraine. Issues related to the constitutional proceedings in this case will be deliberated by the judges at the session of the Grand Chamber.

The Third Board of Judges of the Second Senate adopted the Ruling (final) on refusing to initiate constitutional proceedings in the case upon the constitutional complaint of Andrii Kanishchev regarding the constitutionality of Article 30.4 of the Civil Procedure Code of Ukraine and adopted the Ruling on initiating constitutional proceedings in the case upon the constitutional complaint of Serhii Menchynskii regarding the constitutionality of a specific provision paragraph 3.3 of Section II “Final and Transitional Provisions” of the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding Priority Measures for the Prosecution Offices Reform” dated September 19, 2019 No. 113.
