On March 14, 2025, Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Oksana Hryshchuk delivered a report at a seminar for judges of local and appellate courts on the topic: “Administration of Justice during and after the war: new challenges of social perception and ethical dilemmas”.
The event at the National University of Ostroh Academy was organised by the Lviv Regional Branch of the National School of Judges of Ukraine in cooperation with the European Union Advisory Mission Ukraine.
In her speech, CCU Judge Oksana Hryshchuk focused on the ethical challenges faced by judges, in particular under martial law. Special attention was paid to the independence and authority of the court. In this context, Oksana Hryshchuk recalled a number of decisions of the Constitutional Court, that repeatedly pointed out the inadmissibility of restricting the judicial independence by law.
During the seminar, participants discussed practical aspects of ethical dilemmas in judicial activity. The event's trainers, including representatives of the Supreme Court, High Council of Justice and European Union Advisory Mission Ukraine, also spoke about the key principles of judicial independence and disciplinary liability for violation of ethical standards.
