Acting Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Oleksandr Petryshyn, judges of the Court Viktor Gorodovenko, Oksana Hryshchuk, Vasyl Lemak, Oleg Pervomayskiy, and Galyna Yurovska held an online meeting with the auditor of the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ) Bernhard Schloer to discuss the results of the Foundation's activities in terms of cooperation with the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
During the meeting, it was noted that the Constitutional Court has a long-term and fruitful cooperation with the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ) and the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany. This contributes to the strengthening of professional dialogue between constitutional institutions that play a key role in guaranteeing the rule of law and protecting constitutional rights.
The judges emphasised that such cooperation strengthens the institutional capacity of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, facilitates the exchange of experience, in particular on the functioning of the institution of constitutional complaint, harmonisation of decisions of the national constitutional court with the practice of the ECHR and the CJEU. It also promotes the study of new approaches to addressing the issues facing the Constitutional Court on the path of Ukraine's accession to the EU.
