The Constitutional Court of Ukraine Held 36 Sessions and Delivered 95 Acts of the Court in May 2022

The Constitutional Court of Ukraine continues to perform constitutional functions under martial law and in a special period.

Sessions of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, plenary sessions and sessions of the Grand Chamber and Senates of the Court, as well as Boards of Judges of the Court are held.

During May of this year, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine held 36 sessions and delivered 95 acts. 72 rulings of the Grand Chamber of the Court; 2 rulings of the Senate of the Court; 16 rulings of the Boards of Judges of the Court and 5 resolutions of the Court were delivered.

The staff of the Secretariat and the patronage services of judges ensure the proper work of the judges of the Court in order to exercise the basic powers of the Constitutional Court. In particular, they continue to prepare materials for the Court's sessions, receive and process constitutional complaints, requests for public information and appeals received by the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, etc.

In May this year, the Court received 15 constitutional complaints. According to the results of their preliminary examination, 6 constitutional complaints were distributed to the judges-rapporteurs. 8 complaints that did not meet the requirements of the Law of Ukraine “On the Constitutional Court of Ukraine” were returned to the subjects of the right to constitutional complaints and 1 constitutional complaint is being processed by the Secretariat of the Court.

Also during this period, the Secretariat of the Court prepared and sent 22 responses to requests for public information and citizens' appeals.
