December 7. The Court’s Agenda (Approved). Plenary Sessions of the Grand Chamber and Sessions of the Boards of Judges Held

Plenary sessions of the Grand Chamber of the Court were held during which the following cases were deliberated:

  • upon the constitutional petition of 49 People's Deputies of Ukraine on compliance of the Law of Ukraine “On Introducing Amendment to Article 12 of the Law of Ukraine “On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organisations” concerning the name of religious organisations (association), that are part of the structure (is part of) of a religious organisation (association), the governing center (management) of which is located outside Ukraine in a state recognised by law as having committed military aggression against Ukraine and/or temporarily occupied part of the territory of Ukraine” with the Constitution of Ukraine (constitutionality);
  • upon the constitutional petition of 50 People's Deputies of Ukraine on compliance of the Law of Ukraine “On Introducing Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Concerning Priority Measures to Reform the Prosecutor's Office” with the Constitution of Ukraine;
  • upon the constitutional petition of 47 People's Deputies of Ukraine on compliance of certain provisions of Article 6 of the Law of Ukraine “On Television and Radio Broadcasting”, Articles 15, 15-1 and 26 of the Law of Ukraine “On Cinematography” with the Constitution of Ukraine.

The Court will deliberate these cases at a forthcoming plenary session.

The same day, the First Board of Judges of the First Senate of the Court held session to rule on initiating constitutional proceedings in the case upon the constitutional complaint of Ihor Melnychuk on the constitutionality of the first sentence of Article 86.15.6 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Prosecutor's Office” of October 14, 2014 No. 1697-VII.

In addition, at this session the Ruling (final) on refusal to initiate constitutional proceedings in the case upon the constitutional complaint of Volodymyr Volkov on constitutionality of the provisions of paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of Article 328 of the Code of Administrative Procedure of Ukraine in conjunction with part 1 and paragraph 1 of part 2 of Article 353 of this Code.
