German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation highly appreciates the cooperation with the Constitutional Court of Ukraine

Angela Schmeink, Project Manager for Ukraine and Vietnam, German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation, assured of her highest consideration and stressed the importance of cooperation between the Court and the Foundation in her letter to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

On behalf of the Foundation and its Director, Dr. Stefan Hülshörster, Angela Schmeink congratulated Acting Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Serhiy Holovaty on his 70th birthday, wishing him success in all endeavours and peace in Ukraine, as well as thanked him for his long-standing and fruitful cooperation.

The letter also states that on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the adoption of the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany, Prof., Dr.  Lars Brocker, President of the Constitutional Court and the Higher Administrative Court of Rhineland-Palatinate, in his interview for the “Rhein-Zeitung”, emphasised the long-term cooperation with the constitutional jurisdiction of Ukraine and marked the high level of professionalism of Ukrainian judges.

In the interview, Prof. Dr. Lars Broker outlined the progressiveness of the judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, who are law- and state-minded, and also take into account the case law of the Federal Constitutional Court of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Court of Justice of the European Union, and the European Court of Human Rights in their jurisprudence.
