Judge of Constitutional Court of Ukraine Natalia Shaptala participated in the Polish-Ukrainian meetings on topical issues of constitutional and administrative law
On November 15-18, 2017, Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Natalia Shaptala participated in the Polish-Ukrainian meetings on topical issues of constitutional and administrative law, held in the cities of Warsaw and Łódź (Republic of Poland).
The event consisted of two workshops, including discussion of topical issues in the functioning of constitutional and administrative justice.
The guests were welcomed by the Vice-President of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Poland – Director of the Judicial Decisions Bureau Maria Wiśniewska, judge of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Poland, Head of the European Law Division, Judicial Decisions Bureau of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Poland, Dr. W. Bartosz Wojciechowski.
The Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Natalia Shaptala, delivered a report on "Constitutional Status of Administrative Justice in Ukraine".
She noted that the purpose of administrative justice in Ukraine, in accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine, is to protect rights, freedoms and interests of a person in the sphere of public and legal relations.
Reports were also presented by the former Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, President of the All-Ukrainian Association of Administrative Judges, professor of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv Oleksandr Paseniuk ("The historical aspects of establishing administrative courts in Ukraine"), Judge of the Supreme Court of Ukraine Oleh Tkachuk, assistant-specialist of the European Law Division of the Judicial Decisions Bureau of the SAC Anna Chmielarz–Grochal ("The main features of judicial system's reform in Poland"), Judge of the Vienna Administrative Court, President of the Association of European Administrative Judges (AEAJ) Edith Zeller, Professor at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, President of the Tax Advisors Association Danil Getmantsev ("Advantages and disadvantages of administrative justice innovations in resolving tax disputes"), member of the Judicial Decisions Bureau of the SAC / Adam-Mickiewicz-University in Poznań Wojciech Sawczyn ("Reform of the procedural instruments in administrative court proceedings – in the light of the Act of 9 April 2015 
amending Law on Proceedings before Administrative Courts"), Vice-President of the All-Ukrainian Association of Administrative Judges, Judge of the HACU Natalia Blazhivska ("New procedural instruments under the Code of Administrative Justice 2017"), judge of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Poland, Head of the European Law Division, Judicial Decisions Bureau of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Poland, Dr. W. Bartosz Wojciechowski ("The just judgement and lawful judgement. The status of the supreme court judge from universalistic perspective").
Within the framework of the visit, meetings were held, in particular with the head and judges of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Poland and scholaras of the University of Lodz, where topical issues of administrative justice and ways to resolve them were discussed.
