Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Olha Sovhyria took the oath

On July 27, 2022, Olha Sovhyria was appointed to the office of the judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine by the Resolution No. 2442-IX of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. In accordance with Article 148 of the Constitution of Ukraine, Articles 17, 33, 39 of the Law of Ukraine „On the Constitutional Court of Ukraine“, as well as in accordance with §2 of the Rules of Procedure of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, on 2 August, a special plenary session was convened for the solemn ceremony of taking oath by the newly appointed judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

Olha Sovhyria, at the solemn session, read out the text of the oath of the judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine and signed it. The Head of the Secretariat of the Court, Viktor Beschastnyi, gave Olha Sovhyria the judicial robe and the badge of a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

The solemn ceremony was held with the participation of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk. In his congratulatory speech, the Speaker of the Parliament congratulated Olha Sovhyria on acquiring the powers of a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine and expressed confidence that the Constitutional Court of Ukraine will always protect the Constitution of Ukraine.

The representative of the President of Ukraine at the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, Fedir Venislavskyi, the Chairman of the Association of Constitutional Court Judges, Ivan Dombrovskyi, the President of the Administrative Cassation Court of the Supreme Court, Mykhailo Smokovych, Court staff and representatives of the media also took part in the special plenary session of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
