Today, on 4 September 2024, judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Viktor Gorodovenko, Petro Filiuk, Oksana Hryshchuk, Oleh Pervomaiskyi, Oleksandr Petryshyn, Olha Sovhyria and Galyna Yurovska held a meeting with Maya Tsvitan Grubišin, an international expert of the EU Pravo-Justice Project.
During the meeting, the parties spoke about the correlation between the principle of the supremacy of the Constitution in the national constitutional legal order and EU law (acquis communautaire). They also discussed ways of adapting and approximating Ukraine's national legislation to that of the European Union.
This meeting was held as part of the official screening of the compliance of Ukrainian legislation with EU law under negotiating Chapter 23 “Rule of Law and Fundamental Rights”.
