July 18. Court sessions held: the case was deliberated upon the constitutional petition of the Supreme Court and 2 rulings were adopted

On Tuesday, July 18, 2023, the Grand Chamber at the plenary session proceeded with deliberation of the case upon the constitutional petition of the Supreme Court on the conformity of Article 75.4 of the Family Code of Ukraine with the Constitution of Ukraine. The Court will proceed with its deliberation at one of the forthcoming plenary sessions.

A special plenary session of the Court was also held, at which judges discussed the issue of amendments to the Rules of Procedure of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

At a session of the Third Board of Judges of the Second Senate, judges deliberated the issue of initiating constitutional proceedings in cases upon constitutional complaints.

Based on the results of the deliberation, the Board of Judges refused to initiate constitutional proceedings in the case upon the constitutional complaint of Yurii Siedov regarding the constitutionality of clause 15 of Section XI “Transitional Provisions” of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, clause 2.6 of Section XIII “Transitional Provisions” of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judicial System and Status of Judges” dated July 7, 2010 No. 2453-VI. At the same time, the Board of Judges initiated constitutional proceedings in the case upon the constitutional complaint of Serhii Bychkov regarding the constitutionality of Article 176.6 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
