Meeting of the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Yurii Baulin with the project manager of the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation in Ukraine (IRZ-Foundation) and Moldova Stefan Mironjuk
On October 5, 2015 Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Yurii Baulin met with the project manager of the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation in Ukraine and Moldova (IRZ-Foundation) Stefan Mironjuk.
The meeting was attended by project manager of the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation in Ukraine Wolfram Hertig, Legal Advisors of the Foundation’s Office in Kyiv Hennadii Ryzhkov andNataliia Hlibko, Head of the Office of the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Maryna Arshevska and Head of the Department of External Relations Olga Kravchenko.
At the beginning of the meeting Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Yurii Baulin congratulated Stefan Mironjuk on his appointment to the office of the Foundation’s project manager in Ukraine and Moldova, and stressed that cooperation between the Constitutional Court and IRZ-Foundation remains friendly, productive and reliable. "The Constitutional Court of Ukraine cooperates with many institutions of Germany – Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law, Faculty of Law of the University of Regensburg and the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation in Ukraine has been the key partner since 1996", added Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
He also thanked the representatives of the Foundation for assistance in organisingUkrainian-German meetings on constitutional and legal issues and stressed their importance.
During the meeting Stefan Mironjuk informed that Ukraine is a country of his ancestors, and thanked the Chairman for the kind words on "good and long cooperation of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine with IRZ-Foundation".
The discussion was dedicated to the cooperation plan, in particular visit of the Constitutional Court judges to the University of Regensburg and the German Federal Constitutional Court, the professional meetings with German legal experts and also the organisational issues related to the 20th anniversary of the sole body of constitutional jurisdiction in Ukraine to be celebrated in 2016.
The interlocutors stressed on the importance of determining the subject of professional meetings, in particular the introduction of constitutional complaint, protection of human social rights which are of interest to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
The Court’s Chairman told the delegation about the composition of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, the procedure for appointment and dismissal of judges, Court’s activity at the sessions and plenary sessions.
In conclusion, Yurii Baulin thanked for constructive conversation and expressed his hope for further fruitful cooperation.
