November 9. Court’s sessions held: cases upon the constitutional petitions of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and 142 People's Deputies of Ukraine deliberated

On Thursday, November 9, 2023, the Grand Chamber, at the in-camera part of the plenary sessions, proceeded with deliberation of cases upon the constitutional petitions of:

 - the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine regarding the constitutionality of Article 90, paragraph 2.1 of Section XI “Final and Transitional Provisions” of the Law of Ukraine “On Public Service” No. 889-VIII dated December 10, 2015, Article 21.7 of the Law of Ukraine “On Service in local self-government bodies”;

- 142 People's Deputies of Ukraine regarding the official interpretation of an individual provision of the fourth paragraph of the preamble of the Constitution of Ukraine.

The Court will proceed with their deliberation at one of the forthcoming plenary sessions.

Sessions of the boards of judges of the First and Second Senates took place. At the sessions the judges adopted 2 rulings on the refusal to initiate constitutional proceedings in cases upon the constitutional complaints of Valentin Pavlov regarding the constitutionality of Article 328.4 of the Code of Administrative Procedure of Ukraine and Oleksandr Bartosik regarding the constitutionality of individual provisions of Article 22.2 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Status of War Veterans, Guarantees of Their Social Protection”.
