October 19. The Court is Reviewing the Constitutionality of a Certain Provision of the Family Code of Ukraine. Board of Judges Has Initiated Proceedings on a Constitutional Complaint

On Thursday, October 19, 2023, the Grand Chamber proceeded with the consideration of the case upon the constitutional petition of the Supreme Court on the constitutionality of Article 75.4 of the Family Code of Ukraine.

The Court will proceed with consideration at one of the forthcoming plenary sessions.

The same day, a session of the Third Board of Judges of the Second Senate was held, at which the judges initiated constitutional proceedings in the case upon the constitutional complaint of Viktor Prykhodko regarding the constitutionality of the first subparagraph of paragraph 131 of Section XV “Final Provisions” of the Law of Ukraine “On Compulsory State Pension Insurance”, the seventieth subparagraph of paragraph 19.27 of Section I of the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Increasing Pensions”.  The judges will consider issues related to the constitutional proceedings in this case at a session of the Second Senate.
