Specific Provisions of the Electoral Code of Ukraine Challenged at the Constitutional Court
On 12 February 2021, a constitutional petition of 45 People’s Deputies of Ukraine on conformity of specific provisions of the Electoral Code of Ukraine to the Constitution of Ukraine (constitutionality) was filed with the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
The petitioners request to declare book three “Elections of People’s Deputies of Ukraine” (articles 133 – 191 of Chapters ХХІІІ – ХХХІ), sub-clause 2 of clause 2 of Chapter ХХХХII “Final and Transitional Provisions” of the Electoral Code of Ukraine as running contrary to the Constitution of Ukraine.
