Mykola Koziubra

 

Mykola Koziubra was born in 1937 in Cherkassy region in a servant’s family.

He began his working career at a 4th foot-ware factory in Kyiv.

In 1956 he entered the Law Faculty of Taras Shevchenko State University of Kyiv and after graduation he worked in bodies of the Ministry of the Interiour of Ukraine as an investigation officer, senior investigation officer in Vinnytsia and Kyiv.

From 1965 - post-graduate student, junior, senior scientific research fellow, Head of the Department of theory of state and law at the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR.

In 1990 he became the head of the Department of theory and history of state and law of Kyiv Taras Shevchenko State University.

In September 1996 he was appointed Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine by the President of Ukraine.

Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, Full Member of the Ukrainian Academy of Political Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine.

Decorated with Order of Merit, 3rd class.

Author of a number of scientific works on theory of state and law and constitutional law. He participated in drafting the Declaration on State Sovereignty of Ukraine, the Constitution of Ukraine and other draft laws.

Mykola Koziubra’s authorities were terminated on January 28, 2003.
