OLEKSANDR TUPYTSKYI 

Former Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine

 

Oleksandr Tupytskyi was born on January 28, 1963 in Biloziria, Cherkasy district, Cherkasy region.

After finishing school he served compulsory military service.

He worked as a miller at radio-instrument factory in Smila and “Strommashyna” Cherkasy plant.

In 1988 he graduated from Kharkiv Law Institute named after F.E. Dzerzhynskyi.

1988 – 1993 – trainee at the prosecutor’s office in Donetsk, investigation officer, seniour investigation officer at Kuibyshev district prosecutor’s office in Donetsk.

1993 – 2010 – judge of Kuibyshev district court in Donetsk, 2002 – 2009 – Chairman of this court. In this period he was a member of Bar Qualification Disciplinary Commission of Donetsk region and a member of the Council of Judges of Donetsk region.

2010 – 2013 – judge at Donetsk economic court of appeal, judge and then Chairman of Lviv economic court of appeal, judge and then Chairman of Dnipropetrovsk economic court of appeal.

 

In May 2013 he was appointed Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine by the President of Ukraine. He took the oath of a judge of Constitutional Court of Ukraine on May 15, 2013.

On March 15, 2018 at the special plenary session of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Oleksandr Tupytskyi was elected Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

On September 17, 2019 at the special plenary session of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Oleksandr Tupytskyi was elected Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

 

Decorated with the Certificate of Merit of the State Court Administration of Ukraine, an anniversary decoration of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine "20 years of economic courts of Ukraine," Diplomas of the High Qualification Commission of Ukraine and the National School of Judges of Ukraine, decoration of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine "Justice and Fairness."

Candidate of Public Administration Sciences ("Mechanisms of Public Administration" (2009).

Author of publications on the constitutional reform on improvement of the judicial system.

 

​The authorities of the judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine were terminated on May 15, 2022 in view of the termination of the term of office.
