VIKTOR KOLISNYK Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine

Judge Kolisnyk was born on July 19, 1960 in Pidvysoke, Borivskyi district, Kharkiv region. After graduating from Kharkiv Law Institute in 1985 he worked as a research intern, seniour research assistant at this institution’s department until 1987. 1987 – 1990 – post-graduate student, 1990 – 1998 – assistant, associate professor of the Department of State Law of Kharkiv Law Institute (nowadays –Department of Constitutional Law of Ukraine of Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University). 1998 – August 2001 – doctorate student, from September 2001 – associate professor of the Department of Constitutional Law of Ukraine of Yaroslav Mudryi National Law Academy of Ukraine. 2001 - 2004 – Head of the Directorate of Planning and Coordination of Legal Studies of the Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine. August 2004 - January 2016 – professor at the Department of Constitutional Law of Ukraine of Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University. In January 2016 he was appointed Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine by the President of Ukraine. He took the oath of a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on January 27, 2016. Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine. Research areas include constitutional law, constitutional principles of functioning of bodies of state power, constitutional and legal regulation of inter-ethnic relations.
