The Constitutional Court of Ukraine: August Results

During August 2021, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine held 6 sessions: 2 plenary sessions (in-camera parts), 2 sessions of the Grand Chamber of the Court and 2 sessions of the Boards of Judges of the First and Second Senates of the Court.

At these sessions, 44 acts of the Court were adopted, including: 35 rulings of the Grand Chamber of the Court on extending the term for adopting the rulings by the Boards of Judges of the Court on initiating or refusal to initiate constitutional proceedings; 1 ruling of the Grand Chamber of the Court on the refusal to initiate constitutional proceedings in the case upon a constitutional petition; 2 rulings of the Boards of Judges of the Court on the initiating constitutional proceedings in cases upon constitutional complaints; 6 rulings of the Boards of Judges of the Court on the refusal to initiate constitutional proceedings in cases upon constitutional complaints (final).

During this period, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine received 58 constitutional complaints. According to the results of the preliminary review, 37 constitutional complaints were distributed to the judges-rapporteurs. 16 complaints that did not meet the requirements of the Law of Ukraine "On the Constitutional Court of Ukraine" were returned to the subjects of the right to constitutional complaints, 5 constitutional complaints are being processed by the Secretariat of the Court.

The Secretariat of the Court prepared and sent 73 responses to inquiries for public information and citizens' appeals as well.
