May 17. Plenary Sessions of the Grand Chamber and the Board of Judges Were Held. Cases on Constitutional Petitions and Complaints Were Deliberated

On Tuesday, May 17, the Grand Chamber of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine at the in-camera part of plenary session proceeded with deliberation of the following cases:

- upon the constitutional petition of 56 People’s Deputies of Ukraine concerning the compliance of the certain provisions of the Law of Ukraine „On Complete General Secondary Education“ with the Constitution of Ukraine;

- upon the constitutional petition of 45 People’s Deputies of Ukraine concerning the compliance of Article 11.3.1 of the Law of Ukraine „On the State Bureau of Investigation“ with the Constitution of Ukraine;

- upon the constitutional complaints of Alyona Zabara, Hahik Martyrosian, Serhii Trutniev on the compliance of the provisions of Article 142.1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses with the Constitution of Ukraine and constitutional complaint of Nadiia Kopylova regarding the compliance of provisions of Article 142.1, Article 2791.5 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses with Constitution of Ukraine.

Further deliberation of this cases will take place at one of the forthcoming plenary sessions of the Grand Chamber of the Court.

At its session, the Grand Chamber adopted 63 rulings on the extending the term of adoption of rulings by the Boards of Judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on initiating or refusal to initiate constitutional proceedings in cases upon constitutional petitions, submissions and complaints. The term has been extended until June 16, 2022.

In addition, a session of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine was held, at which a Resolution on the transfer of diesel fuel (coupons) for the needs of the military unit of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine was adopted.

The same day, the session of the First Board of Judges of the First Senate was held, at which 2 rulings were adopted. In particular, according to the aforementioned rulings, the constitutional proceedings in the cases upon the constitutional complaints of S. Vashchenko and O. Tsyhanenko were refused to be initiated.
