Vasyl Shakun

Professor of criminal law department at the National Academy of Internal Affairs, academician of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, academician and vice-president of the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine, Doctor of Juridical Science (1997), Candidate of Juridical Sciences (Ph. D.) (1990).

Member of the Scientific Advisory Boards of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, the Supreme Court, and of Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Full member (academician) of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine (since 2017). Head of the Coordinating Bureau for Criminology Problems of the Department of Criminal and Legal Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Since 2012, he has been a professor of the criminal law department at the National Academy of Internal Affairs.

In 2023 appointed by Parliament of Ukraine for AGE membership as substitute member.

On May 21, 2024, at the meeting of the Advisory Group of Experts, he was appointed to the position of a member of the Advisory Group of Experts.
